When I think back on my life -- living with anxiety -- I think of it as before and after terms...

There's the way I lived before I discovered The Anxiety Tool -- and there's the way I live now.

Before The Anxiety Tool, I spent years struggling and searching for a miracle cure. I suffered silently; feeling isolated from the world around me.

In my early life I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder -- and eventually at the age of 26 with PTSD. Between the ages of 18 and 24 I battled with alcoholism as a way to treat my dis-ease. Throughout my life-long search for peace, mental health and stability, I have found many remedies that worked to lessen my anxiety -- but for me they were ultimately incomplete.

In public I would put on a happy face, while inside I was anxious, uncertain and overwhelmed. It was exhausting and often led to avoiding people and situations whenever possible. I was missing out on life.

Life now is much different. Today I'm able to face life head-on with calm, courage and confidence.

My experience proved something very important

As a society we're obsessed with quick-fixes. In fact, we're trained to worship them.

So many self-help and health products are marketed with promises of immediate results. You'll see, 5 steps to happiness or 30-minutes to a stress-free life.

Consider the diet industry. It's full of quick-fix promises such as miracle diet pills -- promising fast weight loss with very little commitment, discipline or effort required.

The problem is... I've never seen one of these promises work long term. Have you?

The Anxiety Tool is not a quick fix. Like, riding a bike, with practice and determination, deep happiness, peace of mind and confidence are skills we you can learn -- and sustain.

No matter what other form or treatment you're utilizing, The Anxiety Tool can compliment it. I believe everyone facing anxiety or chronic stress can benefit from The Anxiety Tool process.

Through The Anxiety Tool framework I will show you how to relate to yourself, and therefore, your anxiety in an empowering and transformative way. I will teach you practical tools that will enable you to experience greater clarity, joy and stability from the inside out. You will learn how to engage fully in life and live life on your terms. You will learn to thrive not merely survive.

The Anxiety Tool is a catalyst. It's focus isn't on solving symptoms and problems -- but instead on leveraging them. Learning to do this is a fundamental key to our capacity to sustainable change and lasting happiness -- because we all face adversity - but it doesn't have to control us.

The Anxiety Tool Framework

Don't just cover up symptoms, learn to change patterns

Part ONE: 3-month one-on-one coaching program:

This program is designed to give you a solid foundation so you can sustainably get from overwhelm to calm - and get in control of your life again.

Anxiety and overwhelm deny you a meaningful connection to life, people, purpose nad happiness. I will show you how to reconnect to life and yourself.  How to look at your anxiety as a wake up call instead of something to fight against. You will learn how to reframe thoughts and establish beliefs that produce an inner calm, confidence and stability.

I will show you how to relate to yourself and therefore your anxiety in a new way and teach you practical tools for not only coping but thriving.  I will teach you how to align with who you truly are, not over-identify with anxiety.

Like learning to walk, you can learn to think and respond differently - and transform your life from the inside out - where your power for lasting change really resides. Anxiety is a response to an inner misalignment. It is a habit of thinking, and habits can be changed.

3-month program

  • Initial 90-minute session to clarify and define the process and your unique goals
  • 12, 60-minute private sessions (one per week) either by phone, skype or in my Mt. Juliet office.

The experiences of your life grow you

Part TWO: 3-month one-on-one coaching program

This program is to follow Part ONE. It is designed to help you continue to grow in strength, focus and stablity -- and teach you how to develop a positive and resilient mindset -- so  you can truly take control of mind - AND your life -- and move forward in mindful action.

When you are established in your heart and a clear mind - rather than fear and anxiety -- you can learn to find your way through situations that look impossible. When you become equipped to respond skillfully to life's constant change and unknown - you become more established in peace of mind. And from that seed of calm you can grow the most beautiful life.

People who suffer with anxiety spend 6 hours a day worrying.

What could you do with 42 extra hours in your week?

Building on the foundation from program ONE, I will guide you through a process to become the author of your life. You will learn tools to grow from set-backs and to view obstacles as opportunities rather than a source of anxiety. I will teach you the essentials of a positive mindset and help you establish daily practices that reinforce your determination and focus -- so you can truly live in the moment and enjoy the journey -- while creating a future that is both inspiring and motivating.

I’ve been to many therapists. I’ve attended countless workshops & retreats —and read dozens of self-help books. No person or strategy has ever made as much difference in my life as the coaching work Joy & I have accomplished. I’m learning to break habits that have been with me for decades. I am now very mindful of my thoughts, my emotions, and my reactions. I’m living life the way that I want to and I’m happier than I’ve ever been. The difference is Joy didnt’ just give me information; she kept me accountable and taught me how to put the tools into daily action.
— Cathy W, Teacher

Joy brings an integrated approach to well-being and to the importance of living a balanced life, by incorporating into her teachings the principles of yoga, positive psychology, mindfulness, meditation and breath.
— Steve Sloan, VP, Wells Fargo Bank

Joy came into my life when I needed her the most. As a teacher and mentor, Joy really listened to me and helped guide me through the emotional roller coaster I was on. She shared tools and practices that helped rewire my brain and create new and more positive thought patterns and habits, which I still rely on today. Through positive psychology and the wisdom traditions, Joy helped me change my mind, and thus my life.
— Maegan Tintari, Blogger, Author, Artist

Before working with Joy, I was experiencing daily stress and bouts of anxiety. Within the first three months, both lessened by first understanding and then changing how I dealt with unhealthy behavioral patterns. Now I’m better equipped to work through triggers that would normally have sent me spiraling. I highly recommend working with Joy if personal roadblocks are hindering you from living your best life going forward.
— J.C., Mother & Advocate

I originally began studying yoga philosophy and positive psychology with Joy as a private student and later as part of her deeper studies program. It ended up being one of the best things I’ve done for myself. Joy has such a grounded way of speaking about philosophy that makes it relevant to your daily life and her teachings have helped me understand my life from a new perspective and I have tools when I get stuck. It’s been such a powerful learning for how to transform my life in ways I maybe didn’t think were possible when I began studying with her. I have so much gratitude for her as a teacher and for her continual encouragement and support, always cheering me and her other clients on to live bigger, to act instead of merely thinking about it, to focus on the good, on all that is in my life now.
